*While both Arnica montana and Heterotheca inuloides are used for their anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties, there are differences in their safety profiles and clinical usage. Arnica montana is well-researched and commonly used in topical applications for bruises and muscle pain, but it contains helenalin, which may cause irritation if used internally or on broken skin. Heterotheca inuloides, traditionally used in Mexican herbal medicine, contains flavonoids and sesquiterpenes with similar therapeutic effects. It is generally better tolerated and is associated with a lower risk of adverse effects, particularly when used internally, although formal clinical research is more limited.*
